This is a DIY item so buyer may need to do some wood work for proper fit to the sword. Also, buyer need to get the size of the ray skin panels adjusted for good fit to the ray skin grooves of this tsuka core.
This handmade high quality unglued oak wood tsuka core with ray skin grooves will be shipped with two pieces of white ray skin panels without emperor nodes about 25 cm long, 2.8 cm wide on fuchi side and 2.5 cm wide on kashira side.
So there will be no more headache on drilling the mekugi holes on the tsuka to match the existing holes of the tang of your sword.
Also for perfect fit, the hole for tang / nakago space of this tsuka core is made a little bit smaller than some full tangs of modern made swords. So you may need to get the nakago space adjusted for the perfect fit to the tang of your sword before getting the 2 halves glued together.
Many swords selling on eBay are made with low quality and cheap wood tsuka / handles. As one can see from our gallery photos that our 10 inch strong and tough oak tsuka is weighted about 100g, while the cheap wood tsukas of other sellers are weighted only about 50g.
So by replace the cheap low quality wood tsuka of your sword with this top quality oak wood tsuka, it will not only adding much better balance to the sword, but also give a much better handling and safty to your sword.
