Unless the full tang of your sword is made with some curvature ( see the gallery photos ), please do not buy this tsuka core.
This is a DIY item, so buyer need to do some wood work for proper fit. Without ray skin grooves, this tsuka core can be fully wrapped with ray skin.
This handmade high quality unglued oak tsuka core without ray skin grooves will be shipped in 2 separated halves. So there will be no more headache on drilling the holes on the tsuka to match the existing holes of the tang of your sword.
In order to fit a curved full tang well, the nakago space of this tsuka is made with 1.5 mm curvature on both mune side and ha side, so it may fit the curved full tangs of some modern made or some antique japanese swords.
Buyer of this tsuka core please check out the tsuka core in the gallery photos carefully to make sure that the nakago space of this curved tsuka core will fit the full tang of your sword well before making the purchase. Also, this tsuka core need to be shaped and adjusted by buyer for proper fit to the full tang,
fuchi and kashira
of your sword.
Many modern made kataka wakizashi swords selling on eBay are made with low quality and cheap wood tsukas / handles. The weight of this 11 inch unglued strong and tough oak tsuka core is about 0.10 kg, while the weight of cheap wood low quality tsuka cores selling by some sellers are only weight about 0.05 kg.
So by replaceing the cheap wood tsuka core of your sword with our top grade oak tsuka core, it will not only adding much better balance to your sword but also give you much better handling and safty to your sword.
