1806 DRAPED BUST QUARTER PCGS VG8 NICELY DETAILED

Description

1806 Draped Bust Quarter, graded VG 8 by PCGS. An excellent example of this early quarter, with a nice balance of detail, color, originality, and value. These seem underrated to me, in that the total number for the entire TYPE certified, in all grades by all services, is but a fraction of something such as a 1909 S VDB cent. This example looks quite original and unmolested, though the central reverse is curiously a bit brighter than would be expected. There is nice detail throughout, suggestive of a higher grade, with the exception being an uneven strike at the upper obverse rim and the corresponding area on the reverse. A great example to represent the Type.
