Chico Sapote is the wood from the tree that produces chicle, the base for chewing gum. Dense and hard with almost no noticeable grain, pink when freshly cut, darkening to a purple brown with exposure to air and light. This wood came from the sustainable forestry project Plan Piloto Forestal in the Yucatan, air dried 20 years,no defects each piece: 5.5"x1.6"x3/8+"
