Horsman, Beautiful Transitional Doll, Blue Eyes, Original Mohair Wig! Hello. I am an adult doll collector and I am parting with some of my prized collection. Today I am listing this beautiful transitional doll. She is probably a Mama doll made by Horsman and she was made in the late 1940’s. She is a doll with a compo head, but has soft vinyl hands and feet. She is very nice and clean, and has a well stuffed body. On the left of her body, a windup key is sticking out. It is not working. She is marked Horsman on the back of her neck. Her head is beautifully painted. She has blush cheeks, and single brushed eyebrows. She comes with her original blond mohair wig. It is stapled to her head. It is made of mohair, and is styled with rings of soft curls around her face and in the back of her hair. Her lovely blue eyes open and close, and have full lashes. She comes with a pretty lavender, organdy like dress. It is trimmed with vintage white lace, and is embroidered in blue zig zag across the bottom skirt. The puffed sleeves are also trimmed with lace. The left sleeve has a tear. There are some very tiny pinholes around the neck area. Mama doll has her matching bonnet in lavender, and it is also trimmed with lace. The pretty satin ribbons tie the bonnet under her chin. There is a hole on the left side of the bonnet brim. Mama comes with a one piece, white cotton slip jumpsuit. She also comes with two white vintage doll shoes.Mama doll is an excellent example of a doll during the time when composition was being phased out, and other materials being used in doll making.
