Description
My Grandfather bought a Ford Dealership in the late 1940's. I remember this cash register on the counter when i was a very small boy. In later years in was used but not for accounting and now has been in storage since the dealership was sold by my cousins about 10-15 years ago.I know it worked when my grandfather was still alive and for many years after, but I do not know if it works today. Obviously it could use some cleaning.
Over the years customers would come in and offer to buy. The top offer many years ago was ,000, but the business was going well and they did not need the money so they just said NO!

From Dr. Verderame's web page:
National cash registers dating from the 1905-12 command good money with collectors in working condition. If you know where to look—beneath the till drawer in the back of the register–identifying the firm for which the cash register was made is easy. There is a serial number and stamped label stating the merchant’s name and address on the machine. Most antique cash registers sell for several thousands of dollars on the antiques market depending on several factors.
