I took this wood in trade for my artwork from a gallery owner back in the early 1980's. I have never seen it for sale since, it came from Burma, it is dense and very fine grained with a rosewood like aroma, it is bright yellow when freshly cut, these pieces I recently milled from 8/4 stock they have just a few streaks of it now, with exposure to light and air the surface ages to a darker purple/brown/black air dried 30+ years.
