on the side panels so there are

inches of packing material and strong styrofoam supports between the item and the outside of the box (SEE PHOTOS).   This means the item will not move within the box nor should it ever touch the outside of the box if dropped, where damage can occur.

5-10-20+ years old and no matter how carefully it is packed, no one knows how

t will respond to the harsh handling, dropping, tossing around by the USPS, UPS or FedEx while traveling to you.
If there is a problem when the unit after it arrives, it probably happened due to the handling by the shipper. Also,  just because the box shows no sign of damage, dropping this item several times can cause internal damage or things coming loose in the mechanism or circuitry.
Do not immediately assume you have been shipped a defective item -
