On offer is this lovely antique cash register back panel. It's in good condition overall, the bronze metal shines up well still - notable darkened tarnish in the grooves of the decoration as well as light scuffs and scratches commensurate with age. The reverse side has notable darkened with tarnish build-up as well as notable verdigris all over but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.
It's of traditional form, beautifully decorated with an attractive repetitive design complete with elaborate floral scrolls and a central banner with the words "Dayton, National, Ohio".
This is a back panel from a National cash register made by the National Cash Register Company, Dayton, Ohio - from a Model 039 register. Although being a back panel this would've been the side customers would see walking into a shop back in the day. Circa early 20th century.
There are various marks to the reverse side including "1960 b1", "V31007" and "67910".
It measures an impressive 40.5cm (16 inches) by 24.7cm (9 and 3/4 inches) and is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
