VTG 1960s 15" African American Horsman Ruthie Look Alike Doll Orig Dress w Bear

Up for sale is a 15 inch African American doll that appears to be a Horsman Ruthie clone, as she is unmarked (there does seem to be a mark similar to an "A" on the back of her head, near the hairline). This doll is just gorgeous! She does not look like she has been played with and is still wearing her original dress and panties. Her vintage shoes fit her well but they may be replacements as they are quite snug, with no room for socks, which she was probably wearing originally. The doll has the most beautiful face, with bright brown sleep eyes and vivid cheek color, and lovely hair that is uncut and full. I put it in a ponytail, which is most likely how it would have been styled originally, and added the black and white polka dot curly ribbon. The dress was clean but seemed to have darkened over time so I washed it in Twin Pines Perk doll clothes detergent. It came out a lovely shade of ivory that I believe is likely close to its original color. The dress is just lovely and very high quality, with a nicely flared skirt that is quite full. It is a sheer tulle with a raised pink flower print and is fully lined with cotton fabric. It is trimmed with lace at the neck and sleeves and embellished with a black accent on the skirt and black ribbon at the neckline. I just noticed that there is a tear (less than an inch long) in the tulle fabric on the skirt near the waist. It is at the front, to the doll's left, but it is not at all obvious because the cotton lining is the same color as the over skirt. I will send a closeup of the damage if anyone wants to see it. Underwear looks stretched but is otherwise in excellent shape and the shoes are also nice. The doll herself is just about pristine! Her body is made of light weight hard plastic and her head and arms are vinyl. There are minor scuffs and light scratches on her body and limbs but no noticeable marks or damage. She is a very nice quality doll and head and limbs are firmly attached. She holds a pose well and her sleep eyes work well. This sweet little girl comes with her own small plush Teddy bear--he is not vintage but she loves him anyway:).
